The first product my team tackled was at the emerging intersection of fashion and technology: Echo Look. This product was uniquely situated in the market: it coupled Amazon Alexa capabilities, video technology and a style assistant in a device + app. Echo Look was in a key point in it’s development between concept and the start of our go-to-market process when I came onboard. At this key stage, I identified the need for a visual language and system for our app. I outlined the need, worked across leadership to align on requirements and found and hired a talented Art Director to design the visual system.
As we went through the go-to-market process, I worked to align multiple leadership teams across the company around the work my team was doing and drive reviews while connecting stakeholders at key moments in the development cycles. As Echo Look was Amazon’s first fashion forward device, I worked in tandem with our Principle Product Manager to consistently drive and communicate a high visual bar for our core customers across our system’s touch points. The visual system launched successfully with product launch. The visual experience was positively reviewed by our customers and called out from several fashion magazines.
